TL;DR
The lifts are the same patterns everyone uses to get stronger. This session biases glutes and a confidence-first first hour: machines are welcome, empty bars are welcome, logging is the point.
Key takeaways
- Strength work is not a men’s program with the pink dumbbells swapped in.
- Hip thrusts and RDLs belong here.
- Start light. Add when reps are clean.
What this is not
It is not a 20-minute ab circuit and a pink 3 lb raise. You will squat, hinge, press, and pull. That is how you get stronger and how glutes actually grow — see the glute-growth guide for extra volume later.
Gym floor nerves
Machines let you learn the pattern without a crowd spotting your bar path. Take them. Move to free weights when you want. First week at the gym has etiquette if you want a longer on-ramp.
FAQ
Will lifting make me bulky?
Not from three sets of goblet squats. Getting ‘bulky’ takes years of aggressive eating and programming. This session will not accidentally do that.
Can I combine this with 12-3-30?
Yes. Walk on separate days or after this session if you still feel fresh. Do not turn every lift day into a 90-minute grind in week one.
